Bronze Sculpture Installed In Nashville Public Square

Music City Nashville, Tennessee took an important step towards expanding it’s offering of visual arts on Friday.

Sculptor Ken Rowe installed “Exploration and Discovery Number Three: To the Moon” in the downtown Public Square Friday morning.

It’s one of three from a series of bronze sculptures going up depicting Nashville’s deep cultural history and spirit of ingenuity.

Rowe said the figure standing on a stack of books, touching the moon represents a timeline of civilization and the possibilities of the future.

“And then the very, the very top one, is just a journal. Basically representing the future of Nashville, the future of Nashvillians and what they will write for the future,” said Rowe.

“The Percent for Art Program” funded Rowe’s bronze sculpture project, along with several other public art works throughout Nashville.
