A Playground With a Purpose: The Peyton, Parker, and Lane Playground

At Big Statues, we believe statues are more than just bronze and craftsmanship—they are symbols of love, legacy, and lasting impact. Few projects have embodied this mission more deeply than the statues we recently created for the Peyton Parker Lane Playground in Kearney, Nebraska.

This special, inclusive playground was built in memory of Peyton and Parker Hoffman and Lane McDaniel, three local children who, despite facing severe health challenges, touched countless lives with their joyful spirits. Together, the legacies of these three children formed the heart behind a mission: to create a playground where every child, regardless of ability, could play, laugh, and feel included. With the help of the community, their families were able to bring this dream to reality.

When we were asked to create statues for this space, we knew this was more than a typical commission—it was a chance to be part of something deeply meaningful. Our team worked closely with the families and project leaders to design bronze sculptures that would reflect the vibrant, loving personalities of these children and the inclusive vision they’ve inspired. These statues now welcome visitors to a peaceful place filled with laughter and inclusivity, and are a true celebration of life.

For us at Big Statues, this project is a reminder of why we create statues in the first place: to build something that speaks long after we’re gone. Art has the power to tell stories, to heal, and to honor lives that continue to make a difference. Creating permanent pieces that will inspire generations of children at this playground is a privilege we don’t take lightly.
