Big Statues has begun working alongside Colonel Sandy Royster, a proud supporter of the historical museum, located in Henderson, North Carolina, to produce a bronze bust of Mr. C.V. Knight.

The sculpture will be a bronze bust of Mr. Clarence Vernon Knight, the Henderson Institute’s last principal before the school was closed in 1970 due mostly to the integration of blacks and whites in the Vance County school system.

The Henderson Institute Historical Museum was established in 1986 under the leadership of the late Wendell P. Taylor and is located in the Library Science Building, the last remaining original building located on the former Henderson Institute campus.

The bronze bust of Mr. C.V. Knight will be featured in the entrance room of the museum and is being created to pay tribute to Mr. Clarence “Boss” Knight for his years of dedication to the school as a student, teacher, coach, guidance counselor, assistant principal and principal.

Big Statues is honored to be given the opportunity to create a piece of artwork that honors such an inspiring individual.

With every bronze memorial bust created, sculptor Matt Glenn takes special care to recreate the spirit and tenacity of the individual with exactness.
