We were recently commissioned to create a memorial piece for for the Oasis of Hope Hospital, located in Mexico. Dr. Ernesto Contreras, Sr. will now be forever memorialized in bronze at the entrance of the hospital to be viewed by visitors from all over the world. We worked closely with his grandson, Daniel, throughout the artistic process to ensure every detail of Dr. Contreras was captured perfectly."Oasis of Hope Hospital was founded by my grandfather, Dr. Ernesto Contreras, Sr., with the mission of caring for the whole person–body, mind, and spirit. He was the first holistic cancer doctor in Mexico. He integrated medical treatments with nutrition, music and laughter therapy, and spiritual support. I had the privilege of being mentored by him for the last seven years of his 60-year career. I witnessed his mastery of the art and science of medicine. I quickly understood that he used the three most essential therapies: faith, hope, and love.As Oasis of Hope finishes its 59th year of treating 100,000 patients from 60 nations, we are thrilled that we partnered with Matt Glenn to capture the welcoming spirit of my grandfather. Matt is a phenomenal artist whose attention to detail brought this elegant life-size sculpture to life. I feel my grandfather's warmth in this statue that shows his arms wide open, receiving patients with the healing power and love of Jesus Christ. As we enter our 60th year of service, we are proud to commemorate our founder and share his loving smile with each person who visits Oasis of Hope."-Daniel Kennedy
